find the length of a rectangular lot with a perimeter of 140 m if the length is 6 m more than the width.

    The width would be x.

    the length would be x+6

    there are two of each (since it's a rectangle)

    so x+x+x+6+x+6=140

    simplify

    x = 32

    l = 38

    w = 32
