If you triple the recipe, you will need to multiply 2/3 by 3. You need to make 3 into a fraction to do so. Add 1 as 3's denominator.

    2/3 * 3/1 = 6/3

    Simplify 6/3 = 2.

You need 2 cups of Sugar.
