    Problem: Solve y - 7x = - 14; 7y - 49x = - 2 Steps:I will try to solve your system of equations. - 7x + y = - 14; - 49x + 7y = - 2 Step: Solve - 7x + y = - 14 for y: - 7x + y + 7x = - 14 + 7x (Add 7x to both sides) y = 7x - 14 Step: Substitute 7x - 14 foryin - 49x + 7y = - 2 : - 49x + 7y = - 2 - 49x + 7 (7x - 14) = - 2 - 98 = - 2 (Simplify both sides of the equation) - 98 + 98 = - 2 + 98 (Add 98 to both sides) 0=96 Answer: No solutions.

    Y - 7x = - 14

    y = 7x - 14 ... slope is 7 and y int is - 14

    7y - 49x = - 2

    7y = 49x - 2

    y = 7x - 2/7 ... slope is 7 and y int is - 2/7

    if the slopes are the same and the y intercepts are different, then u have parallel lines which never intersect and therefore, have no solution
