= 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, 30, 60
The common factors between 60 and 40 is 2, 4, 5, 10 and 20 but you have to choose the greatest factor which is 20 so that you can simplify completely. You have to divide 20 to both sides:
60 : 20
= 60:20 : 20:20
= 3 : 1
