Nancy needs to complete 3/4 of her homework by 5:00. So far she has completed 1/3 of it. What part of her homework must she still complete by 5:00?

    change 3/4 to 9/12 and then change 1/3 to 4/12 to make them common factors. subtract 9/12 from 4/12 and you get 5/12.

    3/4=9/12

    1/3=4/12

    9/12-4/12 = 5/12
