Let the age of Vera be 'x' years

So the age of Linda is '2x' years

Now Tanya is 4 less than 4 times Linda

So age of Tanya = 4 (2x) - 4 = 8x - 4 years

So total age of Vera, Linda & Tanya

= x + 2x + 8x - 4

= 11x - 4

But it is 2 less than 9 times Vera's age

11x - 4 = 9x + 2

11x - 9x = 4+2

2x = 6

x = 3

So Vera's age = 3 years

Linda's age = 2 (3) = 6 years

Tanya's age = 8x - 4 = 8 (3) - 4 = 24-4=20 years

Tanya is 20 years old.
