If the blue radius below is perpendicular to the green chord and the segment is 8.7 units long, what is the length of the chord?

    If 1/2 of that bisected chord is 8.7 units long, then the length of the whole chord is 8.7 + 8.7 which is 17.4 units. If a radius is perpendicular to a chord, then the radius bisects the chord, creating 2 equal length segments.
