What is the length of the shorter leg of a right triangle whose other two sides lengths are 8ft and 10ft long

    From the Pythagorean Theorem:

    10^2 = 8^2 + x^2

    x^2 = 100 - 64

    x^2 = 36

    x = 6 feet
