The cost of admission per person to a city art museum is $25.50. In order to encourage school and community groups to visit the museum, the museum manager decides to reduce the cost of admission per person for groups consisting of at least 20 people. For groups qualifying for the discount, the manager will reduce the price of admission per person by $0.15 for each person in the group. A group from Marcus Jr. High is visiting the museum and qualifies for the group discount. The school group can only bring one bus, which will only hold up to 55 people. If the museum profits $630.00 from the group, how many people are in the group?

There are 25 people in the group

    Step-by-step explanation:

    25.50 x 25 = 637.5 (-$7.5 of discount = 25 x 0.15=3.75)

=25 people discount, the discount was applied twice.

The only number showing for 630 is 22.50 x 28

    We subtracted $2.75 in error 22.50 x 28 = 630

    28/3 = 9 = 9/2 = 4.5 (28-4.5)

    25.25 x 25 = $631.25

    = 5 people didn't receive 0.25 discount.

OR only 0.25 was applied for 12 people.
