    k+3/4k-2 * (12k^2 - 3) would become k+3/2 (2k-1) * 3 (2k+1) (2k-1).

Cross out the (2k-1) 's. Then we get k+3/2*6k+3 Now we just multiply

    We then get, (6k^2+21k+9) / 2
