    P=2L + 2W

    88=2 (3w) + 2w

    88=6w + 2w

    88=8w

    88/8=8w/8

    11=w

    If the perimeter is 88 and the width is 11 and the length is 3 times the width then the length is 33 and you plug those numbers into the original formula you get the starting perimeter of 88

    P=2L + 2W

    P=2 (33) + 2 (11)

    P=66+22

    P=88
