today n customers each brought a 0.5-ounce packet of saffron half that number of customers brought 3-ounce packets of saffron. suppose 12 customers brought 0.5-ounces packets of saffron. write an expression for the amount of saffron sold to these customers. then find how much saffron was sold in all.

    12 customers brought. 5oz.

    then, 1/2 brought 3oz

    so then 12 * 1/2=6

    so 6 brought 3oz.

    the equation would be

    (12*.5oz) + (6*3oz.) = total amount

    12*.5oz=6oz

    6*3oz=18oz

    6oz+18oz=24 oz

    the total amount sold would be 24 ounces.
