Let's multiply all the numbers by something to cancel out the fractions (because fractions are technically division).
Let's multiply it all by 8, a common multiple of all the denominators!
Now, we're left with ...
4x-3=6
We can simplify that pretty easily!
Let's add three to both sides to get rid of that negative three. We're now left with ...
4x=9.
Now we divide 9 by 4 and discover that we're left with 2.25, otherwise known as 9/4!
