    Scott's gas tank is a 1/4 full.

After he buys 10 gallons of gas, it is 2/3's full.

The difference between 1/4 and 2/3 is 5/12.

Which means 5/12th is 10 gallons of gas.

Full tank will hold 10 x 12/5 gallons of gas.

So, Scott's tank can hold 24 gallons of gas.
