so if f (x) equals 3 (4) that means f times x so f time x = 3 (4) which equals 3 times 4 so f = 3 and x=4 so 3 times for eqauls 12 so you put a 12.0 and alighn the decimals like so 4.05

12.0 but you do this only if you are adding subtraction and multipling
