    (3+x) + x=10.5

    Simplify

    2x = 7.5

    x = 3.75

    Plug in for x

    (3 + 3.75) + 3.75 = 10.5

    6.75 + 3.75 = 10.5

    The heavier packet of fruit is 6.75 kg.
