College tuition and fees cost $12,000. Room and board cost $7500, books cost $500, and other charges are $250. If Lonnie's parents contribute $15,000, how much more will Lonnie need to earn or borrow to pay the balance for 1 year of college?

    Your going need to add the cost of the fee should give you $20500 then subtract Lonnie's contribute which would be$15,000. and would give $5249 that Lonnie need

    First find out the total cost for the year:

    12000+7500+500+250=$20250

    Now we can find the amount Lonnie needs to pay/earn after her parent's contributions:

    20250-15000=$5250
