Start with 50, as you know you have that in your account, then add the variable x, to represent weeks, times 12, because you deposit 12 dollars a week. So your deposits will be shown by 50 + 12x. Now, since you want your deposits to equal $230, your should add that to your equation to make

50 + 12x = 230.

Now solve for x, or the number of weeks.

50 + 12x = 230 Subtract 50 from both sides

12x = 180 Divide both sides by 12

x = 15

It will take A) 15 weeks to have $230 in the account.
