1/2 of the pie went to his friends

explanation: you have a pie that is cut into 6 pieces. Christine ate 1 pience, which is where the 1/6 came from her brother ate 1/3 of the pie. 1/6+1/3=1/2 so there would be 1/2 left to give to his friends

He gave his friend half a pie 1/3 = 2/6 + 1/6 = 3/6 or 1/2. that leaves the other half to give his friend
