Create your own trinomial that has a gcf and can be factored into two binomials. show factoring out the gcf first from all three terms, then factor the remaining trinomial into two binomials. (translation: the final answer should have something out front of two sets of parenthesis.)

    lets say

    (x) (x+3) (x+1)

    multiply out

    x^3+4x^2+3x

    ok so factor out x firs

    x (x^2+4x+3)

    factour inside

    x (x+3) (x+1)
