Basically what the function does is

    f (x) = something

when you do inversee it is

    f (x) turns into h (x)

when you do h (f (x)) that double reverses it and calncels it out to get x

a test to see if it is the inverse is to put it in and you should get x so

    lets say

    f (x) = x+5

    inverse would be

    h (x) = x-5

    so

    h (f (x)) = (x+5) - 5=x+5-5=x

    answer is x
