X = 3, y = 150

k = y/x

k = 150/3 = 50

y = 50x ... when x = 4.3

y = 50 (4.3) = 215 tons of steel

or use a proportion:

3/150 = 4.3/x

3x = 645

x = 645/3

x = 215 tons
