    5. 1:175, if 2ft = 350 ft in life 1ft feet would probably be 175. (Cross multiplication)

    6. a) 100miles, 1 inch = 20mile so 5 inches multiplied by 20 miles gives you 100miles

    b) 10 inches from Appleton. 1inch:20miles (cross multiply to get 10inches)

    x : 200miles

    c) 25000 miles will reach the equator so 50000 miles will go around the world! So, if 1inch:20miles, (50000/20=2500inches) And if 12inches:1ft, 2500inches * 1ft/12 inches to get 208.33.

    7. a) 1inch:2.5miles (5inches*2.5miles/1) 5inches would be 12.5miles.

    b) 1inch:2.5miles, 41miles?. (1inch*41miles/2.5miles=x) x=16.4, so 41miles=16.4inches

    c) No. Because they have different scales.
