Call x the amount of toys the first child has. We write the equation x + (x+12) + (x+1) + 2 (x+1) = 10x. This is equal to 5x+15=10x. Subtracting 5x, we see that 5x=15, so x=3. There are 10x toys, so we have 3*10=30 total toys.
