Your first step will be distributing the - 5 to the binomial inside the parenthesis

    14y - 5 (3 - 2y)

    14y - 15 + 10y

you carry the sign of the number when distributing so the sign of 2y changes to a positive

from here, you add like terms--so all of the terms with the y variable

    14y - 15 + 10y

    24y - 15

and after adding like terms there's nothing more you can do to simplify this expression, so 24y - 15 is your answer!
