    First i think you would need to combine like terms, in this case, you would add the 5 and 2, that leaves us with 4y + 2y + 7. Then combine the other like terms: 4y and 2y, and you get 6y, so if I understand your question correctly, and if I did it right, (lemme know if this isn't what you were looking for), your answer would be 6y + 7
