    Take the 12. Write it in the place of 'x' in [ x - 2 > 11 ], and see whether the

    statement you get is true. If the statement is true, then 12 is a solution of

    the inequality. If it isn't, then it isn't.

    Hint: [ 12 - 2 = 10 ].

    A much easier way to tell is to 'solve' the inequality first.

    x - 2 > 11

    Add 2 to each side: x > 13.

    There you have it! ANY number bigger than 13 is a solution

    to the inequality.

    No because if you subtract 2 from 12, you'll have 10>11, but 10 is not greater than eleven, so that is not a correct answer choice of the inequality.
