What is greater? 2/3 or 5/8

2/3 is greater than 5/8 because if you multiply 8 by 3 you get 24 (2*8=16, 16/24) (5*3 = 15/24) This is how I will do it, maybe I am wrong or right so let me know!

What is greater? 2/3 or 5/8
Change both to decimal and compare.
2/3
2 : 3 = 0.6
5/8
5 : 8 = 0.625
0.625 is greater than 0.6
5/8 is greater than 2/3.
