About 80% of unvaccinated children who are exposed to whooping cough will develop an infection, as opposed to 5% of vaccinated children.

(a) What is the distribution of the number of new infections among the 17 vaccinated children? What is the mean number of new infections?

(b) What is the distribution of the number of new infections among the 3 unvaccinated children. What the the mean?

    Alright ... for the first, we can assume that one child will develop an infection.

    For the second, we can assume that 2 children will develop an infection.

    In other words, the total number of infected children is three of the original uninfected 20. so on average, 15% of the kids got infected
