    Perimeter is the sum all lengths of a shape. For a rectangle, the perimeter is calculated by adding the 2 lengths and 2 widths. It is expressed as:

    P = 2l + 2w

    From the data of the length and width above, we form an expression:

    P = 2l + 2w

    P = 2 (w/3 - 3) + 2w

    P = 2w/3 - 6 + 2w

    P = 8w/3 - 6
