Pyramid A is a square pyramid with a base side length of 14 inches and a height of 6 inches. Pyramid B has a volume of 3136 cubic inches. How many times bigger is the volume of pyramid B than pyramid A? Give your answer as a percent. Provide an explanation and proof for your answer

    Firstly, we must find the volume of pyramid A

    it is VA=1/3) xs²xh

    s=side, so s² = 14²=196 inch²

    h=6 inces

    so VA = (1/3) x196x6=392 cubic inches

    the VB = 3136 cubic inches, so VA x X=VB

    it is 392X = 3136, so X = 8, VB is 8 times greater than VA, so in percent

    the volume of VA is 12.5% of the volume of VB

    proof 392*100/3136 = 12.5%
