A family of five people has $200 to spend on fishing rods and fishing licenses. They spend a total of $20 on licenses. Assuming they buy five identical rods what is the maximum amount they can spend on each rod?

    200 - 20 = 180

    180/5 = 36 ... so the maximum they can spend on each rod is 36 bucks

    200-20 since you spent that leaves you with 180 for rods.

    Since they are all the same they all cost the same so 180/5=36

    answer is 36
