Let us first write down the equation that is given and then go for solving it.
cx - b = ax + d
cx - ax = d + b
x (c - a) = d + b
x = (d + b) / (c - a)
Only restriction is that a cannot be equal to c. The reason behind such a restriction is that if c and a becomes equal, then the denominator will become zero and the value of x will come down to zero.
