4:1 because half of 8 is 4 and half of 2 is1

The ratio in simplest form is 4:1
this is because in 8:2 both 8 and 2 can be divided by 2
so if you do the math:
8/2 = 4
2/2 = 1
so then set it up in the order it was originally
= 4:1
