A student gets 86 problems on test correct and gets a grade of 98%. how many problems were on the test?

    You could set up a proportion

    86/x = 98/100

    Then solve for x, I'll do it by cross-multiplying.

    86 times 100 divided by 98 = 87.755102

    87-88 problems
