I was told to find the perpendicular distance between the lines 2x+4y+10=0 and 2x + 4y+25=0

    Hello,

    y=-x/2 - 5/2

    y=-x/2-25/4

    d=|-5/2 - (-25/4) |/√ ((-1/2) ²+1)

    d=15 / (4*√ (5/4)) = 15 / (2*√5) = 3/2*√5
