Isiah determined that 5a2 is the GCF of the polynomial

a3 - 25a2b5 - 35b4. Is he correct? Explain.

    Ok, easy way is that we divide each term by the GCF and if it doesn't divide evenly, then it is not valid

    first one

    5a^2 divide by a^3

    we see that we cannot since the power is higher and there is no 5 so it is not the GCF
