    Keeping in mind that a = bh

    48 = b * (b-8)

    48 = b^2-8b

    b^2 - 8b - 48 = 0

    (b-12) * (b+4) = 0

    b = 12, b = - 4

    We can't have a negative base so:

    base = 12, height = 4

    The larger dimension is 12 and the smaller one is 4
