If fishmarket bought two swordfish at a rate of $13 per pound. The cost of the larger fish was three times as great as the cost of the smaller fish. The total cost of the two fish was $3952. How much did each fish weigh?

    3952*.25=988 for the first fish so it was 76 lbs

    988*3=2964 for the second fish so it was 228 lbs

    double checked 76 lbs + 228 lbs = 304 lbs

    304 lbs at $13 a lb = 3952

    3952/13 is 304 pounds at the cost of 13 dollars each fish is 152pounds
