How to factor out the coefficient of the variable

    5x=10

    divide by 5 on both sides it will cancel the five out next to the variable because division is the opposite of multiplication so the 5x becomes just x and the 10 is divided by 5 to make two (this is because of multiplication property of equality) therefore your answer would be x=2 and your coefficient is gone.
