    2 (2+3i) Use the distributive property

    (2+3i) 2

    = 4 + 6i (distributive property)

    if solve for i then

    4 + 6i = 0

    subtract 4 to both sides

    6i = - 4

    divide 6 to both sides

    i = - 4/6

    i = - 2/3
