    P = 2 (L + W)

    P = 24

    W = 2L

    24 = 2 (L + 2L)

    24 = 2 (3L)

    24 = 6L

    24/6 = L

    4 = L

    W = 2L

    W = 2 (4)

    W = 8

    so the length (L) is 4 ft and the width (W) is 8 ft
