    2 quarts = 1/2 gallon.

    4 pints = 1/2 gallon.

    8 pints = 1 gallon.

    1 gallon=4 quarts=8 pints

    1quart=2pints

    2 gallons=4*2=8quarts=16pints

    2 containers are 1 quart

    8-2=6 quarts left

    6quars=xpints

    12pint=xpints

    12 pint containers
