crayons. One item from each box is chosen at random. What is the probability that a pen from the first box and a crayon from the second box are selected?

    Probability of getting a pen in the first box:

    7/12 = 0.58

    0.58 x 100% = 58%

    probability of getting a crayon in the second box:

    5/10 = 1/2

    half of 100 is 50, so 50%

    or:

    1/2 x 100% = 50%
