If she ran 4 miles and walked 5 the ratio is 4:5. To get to x:10, we multiply by 2 because 10 is double 5. That would give us 8 miles that she ran.

Let's see, if we have the ratio 4 (miles ran) : 5 (miles walked), when she walks 10 miles, she would have run 8 miles.
