When rounding to the nearest 10 it is important to know whether to round up or down. 245 would be rounded up to 250 but 244 would not. 254 would round down but 255 would not. Any number between 245-254 when rounded to the nearest 10 would round to 250

Well, the rules of rounding, the way I remember is: "5 and above, give it a shove. Four and below, leave it alone."

So, u want to round to the nearest ten, which means your looking at the ones place.

Now, If you want your rounded estimate to be 250, your number in general could be in the 240's or 250's because from 250, you could round to 250, or from 240-you could round to 250.

If you were to choose to do a number in the 240's, you know, that you have to round up.

In order to round up, you must have 240 something, while the "something" is 5 or above.

That term, 5 or above, it means a number that is either 5, or any other digit, above 5 (ex: 6,7 ...)
