    In the parallelogram described above, the value of ab is equal to cd and value of ad is equal to bc. If we let x be the length of ab and that x + 3 be the length of ad, the equation that would allow us to find the value of x is,

    2 (x) + 2 (x + 3) = 30

    The value of x from the equation is 6. The length of ab is therefore 6 cm.
