    You can either divide by negative 1, multiply by a negative

    If you are solving for a value, you can divide by - 1

    For example:

    -x=5 (divide by - 1)

    x=-5

    If you have an equation, you can negate every part

    For example:

    -x^2-2x+7=0 (negate)

    x^2+2x-7=0
