For the answer to the question, above, cube means to raise to the power of 3 (comes from solving the volume of a cube (length x width x height all of which are equal in a cube)

    Thus the cube of n = n^3

One half is the same as dividing by 2 so

    One half the cube of n = (n^3) / 2

To answer the question above, let x be the number. The sum of the number cubed and one is expressed as below:

    x³ + 1

Then, multiply this expression by one-half such that the final answer would be:

    (1/2) (x³ + 1)

Similarly, we can also express our answer as,

    (x³ + 1) / 2
