First solve the X factors on the left side: 2.3x - 6.7x = - 4.4x 9.43-4.4x=-0.3x Next bring the all the x terms to the same side by adding - 4.4x to each side 9.43=4.1x Then divide each side by 4.4 9.43/4.4 X=2.14 I think this is the answer but have to ask what is the sign that goes between 9.43 and 2.3x? This can drastically change the answer. Your goal is to solve for x, you do this by combining like like terms and isolating the the x terms.
